Well done to everyone. Love your shot Karen. Loved it the first time I saw it, a great way of shooting a original, fresh wildlife shot, my money would be on you to win!

Congrats to all those people who were shortlisted. Have looked at them all and they are truly great photos - This last year has seen my ambitions go from mediocre, to good to better photos - and all you shortlisters have shown that the best is yet to come. Many thanks to Digital Camera, all the photo submitters - and let's love ourselves people!!!!!!!! We all have it inside us to take that ultimate, great photo - and what a journey it has been and will be. Let's all keep going, wait on the sunshine, dusk or dark - and produce that one photo which eovkes a sharp intake of breath!! Hey, sorry to you all - I know this was meant to be a comment but ended up a paragraph!!!!! Bfn all you photo people around the world!!!!

Well congrats to all but I have to say I was slightly disappointed with the shortlist - apart from a few obvious exceptions, I recall better shots entered that did not make the shortlist such as the lion and zebra shot. The giraffes are digitally manipulated, the tiger is great but the photo is not technically high quality and all the insects lack impact. But, hey, I'm not a judge. I also agree with the other overall comment that having one photo in three shortlists smacks of desperation.
