Panasonic GF3 Video Review

The Panasonic GF3 is so small you could be forgiven for confusing it with Panasonic's top-end compact, the LX5. But the comparisons stop there. We explain why in our video

Street photography video: Stand Your Ground

Stand Your Ground, a documentary made for the London Street Photography Festival, sees a group of photographers 'stand their ground' in London pubic places as security guards move in

This 16-minute street photography video captures what happened when 6 photographers headed across London on 21 June 2011 to take pictures in public spaces. All of them were stopped and questioned, and 3 of the encounters lead to the police being called. Watch as the photographers stand up for their rights…

I can't believe the harassment! I saw this recently http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/officers-claim-they-dont-need... and think the UK is one of the least photographer friendly countries I know of. Hopefully security/police forces will use common sense more often. (BTW funny typo in the title "pubic places")

Hi,

Recently I took photographs at the Bombardier depot in Derby, and I have got to say the Security Guards were most helpful and polite and let me walk round the front of the depot completely unaccompanied, they requested I didn't go under any barriers or through the gates which I respected.

As the above shows that some security guards are obstructive and think they understand the law but obviously don't. I am not knocking Security Guards in any way shape or form as they do have a tough job to do.

Common sense prevails

I live in Northern Ireland but occasionally work in and around the Manchester area. I am occasionally stopped by police and questioned for no reason at all apart from the fact that I have a car with a Northern Irish registration plate. I found the video very interesting but I wonder if you had used a photographer with a Northern Irish accent in one of the scenarios what the response from the police would have been.
