Hmmm - a Friday afternoon job? I was quite looking forward to this. Try again please.

I have to be honest and admit I utterly hate these faux watercolours that people generate from photographs. I know I just being an art snob but really, either learn to paint or learn to take more interesting photos - you can't have it both ways (and nowhere near Turner, Cotman maybe). Sorry, rant over. Nurse! the screens...

I'd agree it has limited uses.... if we wanted a watercolour we'd be better off learning to paint. But can anybody actually see this tutorial? I only saw the intro .... nothing else, hence my earlier post.

This video is viewable, only the intro can be seen.

Hi all,

Sorry about this - the video should be working now.

Thanks,

Got it! Worth the wait, too.... very good method (used sparingly) and a good way to get new users to find their way around Elements. Maybe it's worth reminding viewers that it's using Elements version 9 - with its own Layer Mask. Users of earlier versions will have to do the clipping mask or Action method. Thanks.

I really enjoyed this tutorial - I just wish that you could do one in Photoshop - I can't combine layers like you show in the tutorial. Thanks Moureen

Fantastic tool. As I do create fairly decent real watercolors my self besides my photographing experiences, I have to admit that I am inpressed about the stunning result this tool provides. It´s fairly impossible to see the diffrence in most cases. As long as I don´t try to sell the generated artwork as "the real thing" but state that it´s made on a computer, I can´t have any split feelings about the whole thing. I use PS CS5 - 64bit version - and I have no trouble in using the shown method from Elements as there is practical no big difference - one just has to know the programs used tools position in PS. Thanks for the tutorial.
